Dan Ventola
Our team
is led by Meteorologist Dan Ventola, certified meteorologist and
weather consultant.
Meteorologist
Chris Castellano received his Bachelor’s of Science in Meteorology
with Rutgers University in May of 2008. Chris began his love of
weather such as hurricanes and snowstorms since elementary school,
with aspirations to become a weather forecaster. Chris has vast
areas of experience in the field of Atmospheric Sciences. In his
final two years at Rutgers University, he worked as an Operational
Forecasting Intern for New Jersey utilities company, PSE&G.
Along with forecasting, Chris has also participated in various research
projects from sea-breeze analysis to wind energy. Upon graduation
from Rutgers, he worked as a Wind Resource Intern for Iberdrola
Renewables with concentrations in renewable energy research and
forecasting. Chris started with The National Weather Station in
January 2009 and is an official member of our forecast team, with
established, and growing, experience in the phenomena weather forecasting.

Our team is led by Meteorologist
Dan Ventola, certified meteorologist and weather consultant. His
vast experience in working in the field for many years has made
Dan a true leader in the weather business. He is expert in weather
forecasting, especially in storms such as snow and rain events,
etc. with an emphasis in severe weather forecasting and radio broadcasting.
He attended Kean University in Union, N.J. and earned his certification
from Mississippi State University through through studying/testing
at The National Weather Service in Newark, N.J. Dan is manager of
our office which specializes in storm updates, aviation weather
and radio broadcasts.
Meteorologist
Greg Jannone specializes in weather with many aspects of forecasting
such as severe weather forecasting as well aviation weather being
his "highlight". Greg is manager of our aviation operations
with our focus on rotary operations and local/regional fixed wing
operations. His focus is on the needs of the aviation community
as well as the community in general makes Greg an integral part
of our operations. He received his Bachelors of Science degree from
the Lyndon State University in Vermont. Greg has been recognized
as one of the "leading" experts in aviation weather forecasting
for the aviation community in the NYC metropolitan area.
Meteorologist
Chris DiVeglio received his Bachelors of Science degree in Meteorology
from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire. His passion for
weather began at a very young age especially with how weather affected
aviation. Nor'easters are among Chris' favorite storms. While in
school, Chris completed an internship with the National Weather
Service and FAA at a regional Air traffic control Center in New
England. He also recorded weekly weather forecasts for his campus
and surrounding community. Chris is part of our meteorological team
here at the national weather station and concentrates on severe
weather, aviation and radio forecasting.
Meteorologist
Mark McIntyre received his Bachelors of Science degree in Atmospheric
Science from SUNY Albany in May 2009. Weather has been a lifelong
passion and hobby, beginning with a rare tornado near his town when
he was a toddler. Ever since then, Mark has looked to the sky always
wanting to learn more about the weather. Mark’s favorite type of
weather is a severe thunderstorm. While in school, Mark assisted
professional forecasters and fellow students at NWS Albany, continually
updating his
knowledge
of weather technology. He also served in the local AMS chapter to
help raise weather awareness among people in the Albany community.
At the National Weather Station since July 2009, Mark is a proud
member of our distinguished forecasting team and provides radio,
aviation, and storm forecasting.
We also have assistant meteorologists and
interns to complement our main staff of meteorologists.
